ABOUT US
Womenite stemmed from an incessant and urgent need to adress the ineptitude of a society which was not only functioning on a set of inherently flawed ideals but seemingly thriving on them too. It is a youth-led youth-driven social initiative committed to bringing a change. Through education, love and empowerment we seek to create a society equal in its norms of gender and appreciative of differences.
GENDER EQUALITY
The persistent efforts of womenite has always aimed towards multiple goals leading to an ultimate goal that is ‘Equality’ in such a gender biased world.
The workshop was hosted to contribute our support to the campaign- 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence.
Womenite organised a workshop in collaboration with Gender Sensitization Committee, University of Delhi, on “Role of Law in the Promotion of “Gender Equality”, on Feb 2018.
CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE PROTECTION
Womenite believes that child sexual abuse can only be tackled when one is made aware of all the forms of its abuse and is well informed about the basic facts.
Womenite conducted a workshop on Child Sexual Abuse on April 2018. The workshop was set-up in adarsh public school, a private school in Nangloi where young brats were told about the issues.
MENSTRUAL HYGIENE
Womenite organised an awareness program on ’Menstrual Hygiene’ with a group of women at Kirti Nagar, Delhi under the banner of ”Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”.
Our team conducted menstrual hygiene and management workshops with a girl student of Mount Carmel School.
Participants were told about the myths and facts related to menstruation.
